​Indeed’s Findings

Indeed, the largest job site in the UK has compiled a list of the ‘top 25 companies hiring the fastest’. The list includes seven social care providers, which may not be surprising to those in the industry.

The data was collected from employers with at least 25 hires within the top 1,000 total job postings between 1st March and 31st May 2024. Recruitment firms and staffing agencies were not included in the list.

The original report notes that jobseekers are frustrated with long hiring processes and a lack of transparency about application statuses. The list was compiled to help jobseekers identify companies with fast hiring process.

The social care sector has a vacancy rate three times higher than the wider economy according to recent data. Indeed’s list reiterates the high demand for staff in the industry.

Health Quality Care are hiring 6.67x faster than other employers, while Black Swan Care Group are hiring 5x faster. These hiring rates are quicker than some nationwide companies on the list – McDonalds, Tesco and JD Wetherspoon PLC.

Indeed notes that the current market conditions are having a significant impact on jobseekers. ‘The combination of a cooling labour market and high wage growth has led to increased competition’. Although it is positive to see these companies within the social care industry hiring at a faster pace.
